GOALS
Kern County Immunization Coalition activities are organized
by three committees:
Committees are supervised by the Executive Board.
All Coalition members work together to
accomplish our goals and projects.
-Serve as a resource for the
most up-to-date information on immunization practices and vaccines
-Provide methods to improve
documentation of immunization history
-Advocate for
an imunization tracking and registration system
-Increase awareness of valid and
invalid contraindications
-Offer
opportunities for trainings and updates regarding immunization practices
-Maintain and develop
partnerships among immunization providers, both public and private
-Increase community
understanding of the importance of the immunizations
-Participate
with an immunization tracking, registration and re-call system
-Dispel misconceptions
surrounding immunizations
-Develop
and promote media Public Service Announcements to increase vaccine
awareness
-Seek
financial resources to sustain coalition activities
-Apply
for funding and write grant proposals as appropriate
-Assist
in coordination of funding when received

The
Mission of the Kern County Immunization Coalition is to ensure all
children and adolescents are appropriately immunized to reduce
vaccine-preventable diseases, as well as to promote awareness of
the importance of immunizations in adults.
